Brossard, Quebec, February 7, 2018 – On January 24, Stanley Healthcare’s Aeroscout and Hugs Wifi solution went into production at a hospital west of Toronto. Prival took the reins of the technical lead of this RTLS deployment. Begun last December, the project will have taken 6 weeks to complete, including project planning and orchestration of deployment in a hospital where births are done day and night. The purpose of this project is to prevent cases of kidnapping of Noussissons to avoid such a situation as in Trois-Rivières in 2014.
HUGS tags are installed on infants and mothers. An alert sounds if an infant leaves the perimeter without authorization. In the case of a mother / infant mismatch, the alerts are sent. In this case, the Mobile View solution uses the Cisco wireless infrastructure and the wifi HUGS solution to locate the active tags. Several difficulties have been overcome. Securing the 6 exit doors in 2 maternity units was an issue, and had to include access to the delivery room and rest rooms following delivery. The groups worked closely together and contributed to the success of the project. Bring the people of Stanley Healthcare, the nurses, the IT group and hospital management and Prival to produce a flawless production.
To achieve this project, some crucial steps have been chained:
- Clinical workshop by Prival to gather the information of the customer’s need.
- Technical workshop to define the processes to follow for the installation and configuration (assessment of the current situation and the installation steps)
- Update of the current system
- Installation Hugs Wifi
- Configuration of HUGS general parameters,
- Fine tuning and final system test

Availability for public cloud and physical workloads
As IT organizations look to run more Linux-based workloads in the public cloud, it is important to ensure they are backed up and can be recovered in order to avoid business disruption. However, backing up and recovering Linux instances is often cumbersome or expensive, requiring manual intervention and consuming an IT administrator’s valuable time.
